Design and Build Your Own Hardware Projects with Microcomputers
Ages 8–17 | Hands-On Hardware
MicroLab Builders is a hands-on hardware course where students design and build their own microcomputer projects. From Arduino and Raspberry Pi to custom electronics, students create real devices that solve problems, measure data, or perform cool functions.
Create functioning microcomputer projects. Build sensors, robots, IoT devices, and more.
Start with provided equipment or bring your own. Learn what you're interested in.
Finish every project with provided equipment. Learn the full process from concept to completion.
Arduino is the perfect entry point to microcontrollers. Learn to program Arduino boards and control LEDs, motors, sensors, and more.
Understand Arduino boards, components, and the ecosystem. Explore different Arduino variants for different projects.
Write code to control physical devices. Learn the Arduino IDE and basic programming concepts.
Build beginner projects: blinking LEDs, button-controlled systems, and simple sensors.
Raspberry Pi is a full-featured computer. Run operating systems, create servers, build media centers, or run AI projects on a tiny $35 device.
Install Raspberry Pi OS or other operating systems. Configure networking, security, and software.
Use Python to control Raspberry Pi hardware. Build more complex applications and automation.
Create home automation systems, media servers, web servers, or AI projects with machine learning.
Learn the fundamentals of electronics. Understand voltage, current, resistors, capacitors, and how to design circuits safely.
Understand voltage, current, and resistance. Learn Ohm's law and power calculations.
Identify resistors, capacitors, transistors, and other components. Learn to use multimeters and tools.
Design circuits using breadboards. Prototype projects before building permanent versions.
Students explore project ideas that interest them. Whether robotics, sensors, home automation, or creative builds, we help bring ideas to life.
Build robots that sense their environment. Create automated systems that perform tasks.
Measure temperature, humidity, light, and more. Build data logging and monitoring systems.
Music makers, LED art installations, game controllers, or any hardware project your imagination creates.
We provide all equipment during the 12-week program so you can focus on learning. All Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, sensors, and components are included at no cost.
Use our Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, sensors, and components for free during the program. Return them after.
Understand every component in your project. We teach you about the hardware, how it works, and why it matters.
Have your own equipment? Bring it! We'll help you integrate it with our curriculum and projects.
Turn your ideas into real devices. Join MicroLab Builders today and create something amazing.
